Silicone sheets

Silicone sheets are used for the treatment and prevention of abnormal scars. The self-adhesive sheets, made from medical silicone, ensure that scars become smoother, more supple and thinner. They also reduce other scar complaints.

  • Reduces itching and pain

  • Scar becomes more flexible, flatter and less red

  • Scar formation is minimized

Scar treatment with silicone

The silicone sheet functions as a protective layer, covering the skin. This helps the skin to better retain moisture and improves its moisture balance.

The increased hydration ensures that the damaged skin of the scar recovers more quickly, reducing the visibility of scars and other, related complaints (even making them disappear).

The effect of silicone on scars is scientifically supported. Which is why the use of medical silicone sheets has become the therapy of choice in professional scar care.

Scarban silicone

Scar care professionals recommend Scarban silicone sheets most often. The reasons for this include:

  • The sheet stays in place when you move, even in skin folds
  • The sheet feels soft and pleasant to the touch, thanks to the unique, stretch-fabric, outer layer
  • The sheets consist of 100% medical silicone, with very high UV protection

Scarban medical silicone sheets are self-adhesive, washable and can be used for a long period. A special cleaning gel, Scarban silicone cleaning soap, is included with the silicone sheet. Regular washing will ensure that the silicone sheet retains its qualities, including optimum adhesion.

The sheet consists of 100% medical silicone, with a stretchable layer and a protective layer. It is available in a Light version and an Elastic version.

UV-protection

Scarban provides (UPF50) UV protection as a standard feature.

Scarban silicone sheets (both Elastic and Light) also protect scars from sunlight, which is crucial for damaged skin. Even when it’s cloudy, the sun’s UV rays are powerful enough to easily penetrate your skin and cause damage. This increases the risks of dry skin, permanent discolouration, scarring and skin cancer.

The protection provided by Scarban silicone sheets is equivalent to SPF factor 50. This does not mean that you can sunbathe indefinitely with scarred skin. You are advised to avoid exposure to the sun as much as possible.

 Composition:

  • 100% Medical silicone
  • Textile layer: polyamide, elastane

Scarban silicone sheets make scars more supple. The sheets will also reduce the redness of scars. Scarban sheets are also an ideal way to prevent direct friction on the skin.
